Rest of Auz and FIJI!!!

Add to Memories Share
Heyyyy
SO we are getting really close to the end of our trip..a couple of days left and then we are home. Here is a little recap of what we have done since we last posted.
TOwn of 1770 was great! We sat on the beach, went for walks, toured the little town etc. We were fortunatley there for the Town of 1770 festival which celebrates the landing of Captain James Cook aka the guy that discovered Australia..in..take a guess what year?...did u say 1770??...ur bloody brilliant hahah. yess soo there were rides and they even reinacted the whole landing and there were guys in those awesome white wigs...which they stil wear in the courts over here hahah.. n e ways we hung out for a bit looked through the market they had set up etc. Propably the best night we had in 1770 started off as a slow night just the two of us having a couple beers at the hostel then movin to the one terrace bar in town. After a couple we decided to call it quits to we headed out. On our walk home kim decided to make some sort of bird call..which some random guy answered lol... and he proceded to cross the street ..it was really dark but all we say was this giat hat coming out of the darkness.. it was rediculous..it was apparently suppose to be what true ozzie men wear ..we just think he looked like a douche hahah..so him and his friend practically begged us...no litterally begged us to come back to the bar...after a while we agree under one condition...LOSE THAT HAT hahahah..so he did..he stashed it in the bushes hahahah...that night we pretty much met the whole town...HILARIOUS!!
After recovering from our big night we headed to Airlie beach on the night bus!

Airlie Beach was super nice. This is where we went to the whitsunday islands for the day! THe whitsundays and a group of islands including the famous Whitehaven beach which has white white silica sand...gorgoeus. Sooo we decided to take this ocean rafting boat for a little bit of a thrill ride up to the islands..hollllyy mooollyyy it was intense..like we got some maddd air it was insane...we couldnt walk for days after due to extreme whiplash...but it was super fun at the time hahah..we met some awesome irish people and one girl from van, who we later went to the bar with that night.

After Airlie we headed to Townsville which was pretty quite and not that great BUTTT we took the ferry over to a place called magnetic island which is just beautiful!! We decided to ret scooters which was propably the best idea EVERRR ..we scooted from one bay to the next..it was great fun!!!

After Townsville we caught the bus up to Mission Beach..which is litterally just a tiny tiny town and a beach..interent was down ..no cell phone reception..pretyy much middle of nowhere haha but the beach was pretty, we went on walks a long it and relaxed.

Cairns was our final stop! THe first day we walked around town looking at the markets they had set up down by the lagoon (similar to the one in brisbane) and had an easy night due to way to much goon on the previous night! lol (goon= box wine, 4L for $10...eee) THe next day we hit up an aboriginal park called Tjapukai where we saw and learned how to dance like the aboriginal people as well as learned about bush medicine, digeridoos, how to throw a boomerang and a spear, and a little bit about the spiritual side of their culture. I don't think we will be catching any animals using boomerangs or spears ..we would starve!!
The next day was a great one ..we headed out on a boat called Passions of Paradise in which we were off to the Great Barrier Reef!! We stopped first in a little spot where we could snorkel from the beach which was cool. We say sting rays, colorful fish and color and giant clams!! After lunch we headed of to another location. There was a deck on the front of the boat so we suntanned and listened to some awesome r and b music..we felt like we were in a music video hahaah.
THe next day was our flight to FIJI!!!..which is were we are at the moment!!
So far we have been to two islands the first one Kuata where we went to a local village and learned how to weave our own jewelery from leaves. We also went handline fishing ..but didn't catch anything :( and participated in a Cava ceremony. Cava is a traditional drink that is made from the roots of a plant. It has numbing effects and if u drink too much your tongue and face go numb hahah
THe second island, Korovou is where we are now. Today we swam with Mantarays in the morning chilled on the beach today and are playing more volleyball tonite as we did yesterday ..and killed it hahah.. Fiji is sooo beautiful!! The islands that we are staying on are proper old school, no luxury at all!..say goodbye to your hairdryer kinda deal!! I think that is what makes it so amazing, big fancy resorts ruin the essence of what is fiji..we are having an amazing time but eager to get home in two more day!!

Love you all and see you soon

CRIKEY!!..

Add to Memories Share
Hey...
So last time we wrote was before we went out in Byron to CHeeky monekys...well that was an eventful night indeed!!..full of jaggerbombs and dancing on sketchy picnic tables....what is not to love ..hahah..
Next stop on our journey up the coast was Surfers Paradise..which was wayyyy bigger than we thought...we were expecting little surfer town like byron but noo..there were skyscrapers...which didn;t do much for our tanning later in the afternoon..gahh...anyways...we pretty much just hung out on the beach most days apart from one day where we went to one of the theme parks near by for an adrenaline fix. It was no LaRonde but it did the trick! At night we entertained ourselves with irish pubs and one night we went to a cabaret dinnner thing which was called Draculas and was totally vampire themed. Everyone that worked there was dressed up and in character...the show was hilarious!!..all the food had funny names like the lamb was "silence of the lambs" haha etc..defs a good time!!

After Surfers we hit up Brisbanee!!!... he kells and I walked pretty much the whole city in a day! We hit up this place called South Bank which is a trendy little area in which there are coffee shops and stores and this random lagoon thing that is man made..it is like a mini little beachy thing right in the middle of the city ..haha weird but awesome!! That night Kells and I met up with a friend of mine from pre-u Mike Khoury and his bf Kevin for a dinner at a sushi restaurant in south bank!...It was one of those conveyor belt sushi places and there was this weird looking hot dog sushi..so Kim dared Mike to eat it..he paid like 5 bucks for a hot dog covered in rice..and it was digusting hahahaha. They put the most random things in sushi here...I miss my kamikaze!! The next day we went to Australia zoo..aka home of Steve Irwin..aka GOD..hahah It was awesomeee..we watched a crock show saw a million different animals, pet and fed kangaroos and held a KOALA..pretty much the highlight!!! Kim tried to steal it fromt he lady...she was not impressed hahah. After the zoo Mike and Kev invited us to there place for a home cooked meal. They bbqed up some Kangaroo which was amazinggg!! After a couple bottles of wine we headed back to the hostel as we were off to Noosa at 7 am the next day.

Noosa is a small little chill town like an hour or two from brisbane. Here Kells and I pretty much just chilled on the beach..which is beautiful and hung out at the hostel at night. We met a lot of interesting people..everyone at our table was from a different country!!..how cool is that!

Next we hit up Rainbow Beach! Another small town with a beautiful beach! It is called that because of the colored sand. The sand is a mixture of different colors, really cool to see. Our first night we had some dinner and drinks at the hostel and hung out w our roomate who was from brazil and a true ozzie bogan..hahah he was this plumber who litterally had plumbers crack hahah..i don't know if it was on purpose or not but it was hilarious hahah..good night!! The next day we woke up super early and headed out on a boat to feed some wild dolphins!! We headed to Tin Can Bay, on this little boat, where these wild dolphins come every morning to get fed..super neat!! Later that afternoon we hiked up the hill side to Carlos Sandblow which is like a desert , there is litterally just endless sand on top of this mountain which was brought up there by the elements. Up there we could see a 360 degree view of Rainbow Beach..it was beautiful..we stayed here to watch the sunset which was just an unreal moment!!

Hervey Bay was our next stop! Hervey bay doesn;t have one centre of town it has 5 hahah soo you really have to know what you want to do and choose your destination wisely. It is usually known for its whale watching but unfortunatley it is not the season for it :(. Hervey bay is also one of the most popular places to depart for fraser island. Since we are on a tight schedule, and since kim has already been, we just did a day trip of fraser. We headed out early in the moring with our new friend from Germany and as we boarded the bus we randomly met up with our Finnish friend from Noosa which was really cool. SO the four of us explored Fraser together. We first went to the Central station where we learned all about the island and its history. Later we went to visit a fresh water creek, an old ship wreck, colored sands and Lake Makenzie ( what fraser is famous for). This lake sits quite a ways above sea level and it is made of purely rain water..so it is crystal clear with beautiful white silica sand! We couldn't get a snese of its real beauty as the weather was not that great but it was still gorgeous!!

We then caught the bus to Bundaberg...as anyone that has been to Australia knows that is where Bundaberg Rum and Sugar are from..but most importantly that is where the Bundaberg RUM is from haha.. There was not much to do in the little town except for go to the Rum Distillery..which we had NO problem with..lol. We got taken on a tour around the Distillery, shown exactly how the rum is made, bottled etc., which was quite interesting..and then after the tour it was sample time!! Kim tried Bundaberg and Cola..which was on tap!! weird... and this carbonated ginger beer bundy mix which was AWESOME!! and Kells tried straight original bundy and an exclusive liqeur which was delicious and tasted like chocolate, caramel and heaven haha. Needless to say we had a good time and got some souvenirs...which i am pretty sure are all gone hahah.

We are now in The Town of 1770, which is named after the year Australia was founded by Captain James Cook. We just arrived tonight soo we will keep you updated on our activities!!

Keep you posted!
Love u all
Kim and Kells

Oh man ... another blog entry !

Everyone get excited... another entry in our travel blog .. we're excited so you definitely should be too !
Soo we left off right before we went to the bay of islands... so we had to say goodbye to most of our friends that we made in NZ before we went to the bay of islands which is in the north of NZ. We got on the bus and drove up ... it was raining so many of the activities were cancelled. We met some nice people though and we had a big night out to say good bye to the last of our friends (the best ones). We went dolphin watching while we were there too... unfortunately there were no dolphins to be seen and Kelly just slept the whole time ... 70 dollar nap ...yikes
We also headed up to Cape Reinga which is the top most part of NZ, here we visited a spot where the Maori people believe the spirits of their loved ones pass over to the afterlife. It gives them a chance to say whatever they wanted to say to their loved ones that have passed. We also could see the most north point of NZ which was cool. After we headed to some sand dunes where we went sandboarding!!! which we pretty much just climb this giant dune and jump on a boogy board and go for quite the ride haha...Kim learned her lesson the hard way that screaming is not the best idea as sand goes in places you can't imagine...a literal SANDwich! haha
We made our way back to Auckland for a couple of days before we had to head over to Oz. We met up with a friend that we had met along our travels who is from BC and we did some touristy things around the town. We headed up to the Auckland SkyTower to get a panoramic view of the city which was cool. Kelly was feeling sick from the heights but managed just fine. We had to catch a shuttle to the airport at 4:40 which was amazing ! hahah there is nothing more exciting than being the only person awake and on the street. So we made it to the airport with no problems and got on our flight to Sydney ! where it was raining .. again ! We explored the city for a couple of days, we went on the Hop on Hop off sightseeing bus... our mother would be so proud of us ! ... we went to the sydney opera house, we went to the sydney darling harbor, circular quay, the rocks, sydney aquarium and soooo much more !
We also got on the bus to take us to Bondi beach which is the most popular beach in the sydney area... it was cool there were a lot of people surfing and an old man fishing in a speedo... that made our day .. we have pictures ! yayyyyyyy !!!!!
That night we met up with our Irish friend that we met in Asia who is now living in Sydney ... she made us the most delicious thai green curry for dinner and then took us on a night our around town to meet her friends... who were all irish.. and we went to a bar called the tea gardens which was full of irish people... were were the only non irish there .. it was greeeaaattttttttttt ... but u can imagine the drinking involved ! yikes
Next day we dragged ourselved out of bed and headed to Manly beach.. no it is not a beach that is actually manly .. its just called that ! and guess what .. it was RAINING !!! gahhhhhh we cannot escape it ! but it was pretty nice altogether a nice little town !
The next day we had to leave Sydney nice and early to get on the bus to take us to Coffs Harbor.. another very small little town which is renouned for its ... Jetty... exciting ! hahah in all seriousness it was a nice place to relax .. we went to the beach and we also went to this place called Pet Porpoise Pool ... oh man good times... We saw dolphins doing flips and seals doing tricks but we got there late so missed the seal kisses !!! sooooo disappointing .. big tears :(
After two nights there we moved on and Now we are in Byron Bay ! ... Kim had come here when she came to Oz a while ago and she loved it so we're rockin out over here !... our hostel, The Arts Factory, is wicked we are in a lakeside cottage like thing .. its like camping and everyone is super fun ! Tonight we're hitting up a bar called Cheeky Monkeys... the only place you are allowed to dance is on the tables... oh man ... this will be interesting
We'll write soon
Love you guys and miss you tons

Hey hey
yes yes we are still alive and well
So to pick up where we left off.. we were heading to christchurch again ... woo hoo... there is pretty much nothing to do there other than going to see the christ-church or to go punting on the Avon.. which couldn't be more boring ... luckily we were only there for one night we got lucky with the bus, some of our friends missed the bus so we stole their spots haha
The bus took us to Kaikoura again, a little town that is mainly known for its dolphin swimming and whale watching... we just took a really long nap, played some cards, and then went to bed ... super exciting.
The next day we got on the bus and drove to Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. We took a 3 hour ferry ride through amazing scenery and arrived to the hustle and bustle of the city. Wellington was not as big as we thought it would be, its small for a capital, not like montreal or anything. We were supposed to be in Wellington for three nights but got stuck there for about 6, we totally ran out of things to do so we ended up seeing a number of movies (fast and the furious 4 hell yeah !! haha). We also went out a lot at night, our friend Rick decided that he was going to lead us on a pub crawl, so we just ended up stopping in the most random places, pretty much just us and like 2 old crazy guys hahaha it was good times. We tried to go to this bar the Matterhorn 4 times while we were there because it was supposed to be one of the top 3 bars in the world but every time we went it was closed. Best bar my eye ! hahah We could never get into the bar but there was this play park thing on the same street so on all 4 of the nights we went down the slide a number of times and there was this giant lizard that we rode hahah (it was not a real, live lizard haha)Awesome !
When our 6 days were up in Wellington we got on the bus to Lake Taupo which is a really small town, as many of the towns in NZ are, where it was pretty much the last chance to do anything really crazy... so we both went Skydiving !!!! ..... NOT hahah but some friends of our did it and loved it so Kim got all psyched up and wants to do it but Kelly watched the video of our friends doing it and started to feel ill... haha winner !
We were in Taupo for two nights where we met up with some friends that we met along the way and we got to catch up ... when the two nights were over we headed to Rotorua.. which is really hard to say ... hahah but really fun to say when said in a swedish accent hahah .. dont ask why
Rotorua is a geothermically active place, one of the most active in the world which means there are a lot of hot springs and geysers and such. It also means that there is a lot of sulphur around, which leads to it smelling like a giant egg salad sandwich .. urrrgggg
It literally smells all the time, people who live there must be born without some smelling ability because there were times where we thought we would vomit it was so bad. However ... Rotorua was awesome, we went to see the geysers the first day which were really cool but smelly. At the same place they had a Kiwi bird sanctuary thingy so we got to see our first Kiwi bird since being in NZ... wierd looking things, they are big and dont have any wings...what if it falls over? how is it supposed to get back up again ? These are the things we think about... the important things haha. We also got to see a little Maori village and a weaving and carving school which was quite interesting indeed !!!... also Kim put her hand in a massive pile of bird poop which made the day a lot more hilarious hahah
The next day was the best day ever.... SHEEP SHOW DAY !!!! yayyyyyyyyyy
It was amazing hahah we learnt what all the different sheep they have in NZ are, they sheared a sheep in front of us which was super rad, they milked a cow, and they had their sheep dog cone on stage and round up some sheep ... some of the dogs actually jumped on top of the sheep and just sad on top of them.... freakin' awesome !! hahah
We got to pat baby puppies and lambies hahah and Kim fed a baby lamb with a bottle .. too cute
After the sheep show.. which was PHENOMENAL.. we went on a tour of the farm which was wicked. We got to have some kiwis and we fed alpacas and sheep and deer and we saw the biggest cows ever.. it was definitely a good time... you know you're city kids when you have that much fun at a sheep show hahaha
That night we went to a Maori experience night where they show you a village and you get to walk around and learn stuff about the Maori people. They also put on a show for you with songs and dancing and then we have a traditional maori meal which was amazing... the night was so good as was our entire stay in Rotorua.
We left Rotorua and got back on the bus to meet up with a bunch of our friends that we met along our travels which was amazing as it was our friend Ricks birthday and were going to celebrate it that night... now there were tons of people to help us do that !!! We drove to Aukland, which is the biggest city in NZ where we had a nice dinner for ricks birthday. After dinner we all got crazy outfits on ... tinsel wigs and party hats hand headed down to the bar to celebrate and dance all night hahaha
We are on our last night in Aukland now and we are going to the Bay of Islands tomorrow morning bright and early ... supposed to be one of the nicest places in NZ but we will be the judges of that hahah
Love you all and miss you tons

So We have been up to a lot and we have tons to write about... lets get down to it shall we?
After Kaikoura we drove to a little town called Nelson, we didn't get to see much of Nelson as we were only there for a night but we had fun none the less. We partook in a little beer tasting, got to taste some / all of New Zealands beers which were pretty good ... except for one called Sexy Red... dirty
After the beer tasting we had a roast dinner which the English people on our trip were raving about, somehow we didn't think that it was as good but it was cheap and you can never complain about that !
After dinner we sat down in the bar to a couple of nice little drinkypoos and some drinking games which after we headed down the deserted streets of Nelson to a bar called SHARKS.
Next day back on the bus. Destination: Westport. Its a tiny little town but its filled with bars haha and creepy old guys !! so good times were had obviously. Driving into town we were offered the opportunity to partake in a little jetboating. Something that New Zealanders invented to boat even when the water was quite shallow. Pretty much we just went super fast and did a bunch of crazy spins and stuff... sooooo fun !!!! That night our bus driver organized a pub crawl around the town but it was a three legged race, we had to get chosen a member of the opposite sex to be our partner, get tied to them, and then proceed to 5 bars where we were to down a pint of beer for the guy and a glass of wine for the girl as fast as possible. It was intense, painful, but really really fun hahaha. Kelly came in 3rd place and Kim came in 7th out of 15 teams so the Lucas's were representing! After the game was over everyone chilled at the last bar and got to know some locals hahah namely Charlie, the drunkest old man in the world.
Next day was an early one, especially after the night we had, we got back on the bus and headed to the Poo Pub. This is no ordinary pub, no sir, its owned by the oldest bar owner in all of New Zealand. What a champ! He owns a bar and a hostel so he pretty much only has people from the tour group that we are on coming and going from his place. So he has parties for us, the parties are themed everynight, our theme was "What the F*ck". So pretty much your outfit had to make people say "what the f*ck". Our aim when looking for outfits was just to find as much random stuff and wear it. Kelly pretty much looked like a Rabi and Kim looked like a garbage bag Pirate. Some people took that theme to whole new levels, it involved a lot of guys in spandex ... way to much information for me thanx ! Before the party tho Les (the old owner guy) made us all an amazing dinner himself which was quite impressive. The night was a good time, our costumes lasted and we definitely didn't look as crazy as some other people
After that night, we again had to wake up to get on the bus after another looong night. We headed to Franz Josef, a little town known for its glacier. When we were in franz josef we did a HeliHike, we took a helicopter up to the glacier, got our little spikey shoes on and hiked around the glacier with a guide, it was one of the best experiences we've had on this trip. So beautiful and definitely something that you dont see everyday!!! We stayed two nights in Franz Josef but then it was time to move again.
We drove to Lake Wanaka which is a little ski town known for its lake (clearly). Our bus driver told us this huge story about the dolphins in the lake and that at six o'clock every evening we can go feed them peanut butter on buns. This turned out to be a lie and a number of people on our trip ended up asking locals about it. The locals laughed cause firstly, dolphins don't live in lakes and apparently bus drivers tell people that all the time... jerks. That night we had a Pub Quiz where we formed teams and had to answer a bunch of different questions on a number of different subjects... both our teams lost... boooo
Next day we headed to Queenstown which is where we have been for about 4 days now. On our first day, pulling up to the town, we stopped at a bridge. This was not an ordinary bridge, this is the birthplace of bungy, some people on our bus were going to try thier hands at it so we all got off to watch them. When we arrived Kim decided that she couldn't pass up the opportunity so she signed herself up to jump off the bridge!! She was great ! Jumped off with no hesitation and screamed the whole way down CHAMPION ! She won't stop talking about it hahaha
From then on we have just been chillin' in Queenstown, we did Luge down a mountain, indoor miniputt which was epic, bowling, pub crawl we've seen a couple of movies, you know just a little of everything.
Tomorrow we peace out of here ... back to Christchurch for a night and back to Kaikoura which after we head to the North Island
Love you and Miss you

New Zealand... Becoming the Lords of the Rings

Add to Memories Share
Hey Hey
We're back on track with the blogging and we have been so many places since the last time we wrote. We have been touring on a bus for about a week now and have been pretty much all the way down the south island of NZ
Alright so we started in Christchurch as we blogged about before and we hit up the Lord of the Rings tour just so that we filled our quota of nerdy activites. We got up super early and possibly the most embarassing part of the tour was that written on the side of the bus was "Lord of the Rings and Off Roading Tours" yikes we wanted to keep that on the down low but everyone we drove passed looked and laughed... damn
So they pretty much took us into the middle of nowhere, the flattest part of new zealand, the bus driver talked a lot about the movies and then he dropped us off at the mountain where the Golden Hall from the movies was built. We had to hike up this mountain, which we almost got blown off of and the best part of the whole trip was that we got to hold swords and battle axes hahhaa it was too good. The scenery was great, rivers, lakes, mountains.... picturesque. After the mountain hike we were taken to an old sheep shearing farm where we had lunch and champagne (oh yeah) after which we got back on the bus and watched a bunch of special clips of behind the scenes lord of the rings stuff.
We stayed in Christchurch for 6 days which if you have ever been there you would know that it was a challenge finding things to do w/in the day..small quite town pretty much,... sooo we hit up the market on the weekend which had some nice New Zealand made stuff like wool hats, jewlery etc, we road around on the little tram w/in the city doing the ol touristy bit and we also went on a ghost walk at night which was pretty spooky..not sure if kelly slept that night ..hhah
So after the six days in Christchurch we met up with our bus the early morning of the 30th (march)..from there we travelled to Kaikoura which is a smaller town on the east cost of the south island ..here we went deep sea fishing...hahah super random but soo fun. We got on this boat and they took us out to sea and we got to remove the cages that catch crayfish (which is pretty much like a lobster with out big claws) and we got to fish, the rods were massive and had two hooks on them which made them super heavy.. it was a workout ! Where they took us was great because there are so many fish, everytime we put our rods in we caught something. We were catching pretty much the same fish all the time, a perch but kelly caught a blue cod and a baracuda !! helll yahhh ahhah that this was massive and had huge teeth, we had to throw it back in cause we can't eat it... it died and a bird ate it... not such a waste
The guys that took us out then cut up all the fish and we got to take it home ... we had rediculous amounts of fish.. the boys on our trip bought chips, we bbq ed and battered the fish and we had fish and chips for dinner... it was great. That night we all just chilled out and had some drinks and got to know eachother.

G'day Homies, I know we haven't written in a while but we are going to start up again. Sooo after Asia Kells and I went home for a sweet Christmas full of family and drinking. After about a month we hit the road yet again to the beautiful AUSTRALIAAAA... which took us about 2 days ..good ol fashion "cheap" tickets with a fabulous 4 stops YEAHHH :( n e ways we made it in one piece..well sort of lol. So we have been living in Melbourne for the last 2 months which is a really awesome relaxed city which is very artsy, there is always a concert on or an art show or a festival, super rad. Melbourne is kinda like a mixture of San Fran and Vancouver but the guys have hot accents ;) Kells and I shacked up with a British couple in a little flat in St. Kilda which is a super awesome beachy/party suburb 20 mins outside of the city full of chill peeps and backpackers. Our flat was literally a 5 min walk to the beach...can u say BOOYAHHH!! There are two main streets in St. Kilda, Acland street which is full or restaurants, little cafes and like one million cake shops. The other street is Fitzroy street which also has a lot of nice restaurants but is also more clubby and pubish. Sooo about 1 week in I (Kim) find a job working for a marketing company doing sales...which was challenging at times but a lot of fun too. Basically I woke up at 5 am every day left the house by 6 to catch the tram ( ooh yeah Melbourne has trams hollaa) to work, get there at like 7am and get home around 8/9pm everynite..sooo long hours but the peeps were sweet as so who could complain?! Kells found it hard to find a job that wasn't in the sales field..seems like everyone is looking these days! I wasn't gunna complain tho cause every night Kells had dinner ready for me..she is a ninja in the kitchen! So after just under 2 months of work Kells and I decided to start up our travelling. We took a week to really get to know Melbourne and we also hit up the Great Ocean Road, which is basically a road that follows the coast line just outside of Melbourne which was just gorgeous!! We also got to spend time with two awesome girls that we met on our asia trip that live in Melbourne, Brenna and Courtney. They took us under their wing and showed us the true Ozzie way. We were invited to an Ozzie BBQ aka drinkfest and had a girls nite in filled with classic Ozzie movies and foods. After saying goodbye to some amazing friends and roomies, Kells and I departed for NEW ZEALANDDD!!
Andd that is where we are right now!! We are in ChristChurch at the moment just settling in to the Kiwi way...tomorrow we are off for a Lord of the Rings adventure...I will give you one guess who's idea that was...lol Should be good though but if we have to reenact anything I soo call Legolas! lol So that is about it for now but we will keep you posted! Love and miss you all!!

Hey hey !
I can't believe the last time we wrote on this thing was when we were in Bali.. it seems so long ago and we've done so much stuff since then but it was only about 2 weeks ago haha its crazy !
Right now we are in Railay in Thailand which is a beach off of Krabi and its currently not to nice weather so we've been chillin, decided that this is as good of time as any to write you, our friends and family, another delicious journal entry ;)
So Bali continued nicely after we last wrote, we recovered from our 3rd degree burns haha and we can now sit down without a problem ! The weather in Bali was phenomenal sunny everyday and when it rained we were ready to leave the beach anyways which was sweeeeet.
After Bali we flew to Manila to visit a friend that we went to school with in Japan who had moved there with her family. Pamela !!!! We only stayed in Manila for two nights and our second night there we had dinner with Pamela and her family and they told us we had to stay at their house and they weren't going to take no for an answer hahah. It was really nice to see them considering Kelly was pretty much a permanent fixture at their house in Japan. After our second day in Manila we took the SMALLEST plane ever to Boracay Island for three nights.
Boracay was kick ass ! probably the nicest beach that we have ever been to. Crystal clear water, white sand, and the people who were trying to sell us stuff went away after we said no once ! wow !!! hahah. It was super nice weather there too and the place we stayed was super cute and the people who worked there were sooo friendly.
We didn't really do any partying in Boracay until the last night when we hit up this bar named Hey Jude which was filled with a bunch of tourists from Norway who were the biggest douches we've ever met .. so rude ... so we made friends with some Lady Boys and danced the night away hhah it was super fun ! Lady Boys are awesome !
After Boracay we headed back to Manila for one night before we were flying to Bangkok the next day to see Allison. Pamela picked us up at the airport and we were driving back to her house when we realized that the airport that we were flying out of was Clark airport which wasn't actually in manila... 3 hours away by car. We were super pissed !! And the only options of getting there were taking a 300 US dollar cab ride, taking four buses overnight or for their driver to drive us... so they offered us their driver which was above and beyond ! we felt horrible, but we were so grateful for them cause how were we going to get there without them ?
When we got the airport it was 6am and our flight was at 10:50 ... we had to wait till nine to check in which was so bad because the airport was in the middle of an army base and there was nothing around, NOTHING !!! So we waited around for hours and when it finally came time to check in we get to the front and the lady says that the payment didn't go through and that we need to go get cash, go to the ticketing office and then come back ... we were so pissed but it worked out .. we then had to line back up for a million years and check in and then we get hit with a charge cause our bags are over the weight limit !!! gahhhh it was a little nuts but we did make it to Bangkok without any other problems.
When we got to Bangkok we made our way over to Allisons apartment .. which is awesome ! huge, fully furnished, pool... what else do you need ? hahah We spent about five days with her just bumming around Bangkok while she worked and after that we flew to Krabi, took a bus to Ao Nang and then took a boat to Railay which is where we are now
This place is awesome.. and would be even more awesome if it were sunny and not raining but whatever .. we're on a kick ass beach what more could i want. The beach is small and secluded .. there is pretty much nothing on the island except for hotels, restaurants and bars. Our hotel has a sweet pool and pool bar which we have been hitting up its an infinity pool... oohhh i love it
We leave in a couple of days to head back to Vietnam ... yayyyy we only got to spend about 1.5 days there so its gonna be nice to see more of it.
Well i think i have carpal tunnel now... maybe we should write more often .. but u know we're busy doing super cool things haha
Miss you and Love you

Hey hey ...
we're back on track with another entry. The last time we wrote we were in cameron highlands in Malaysia. The day after that we headed over to Kuala Lumpur where we spent five years of our lives developing into the amazing people we are now hahah. We only had about a day and half so the full day that we had we rented out a driver guy all day and hit up all the places that we used to go when we were kids.. well not all the places but the places we frequented most often. We hit up ISKL (international school of kuala lumpur) which was amazing.. it was a holiday so there was like no one in the school so we were free to go nuts. and we pretty much did ... sneaking into all the rooms.. running onto the field and taking rediculous photos. ALthough i have to say that not much has changed since we were kids. Oh... before we hit up ISKL we went to go to the hotel that we lived in for a while before we found a house to live in. We used to have good times in that hotel, in the kids play room playing sega sonic the hedgehog for hours . We pull up to it and it is almost completely torn down, they were doing some sort of full body makeover for the building which was sad and we couldn't go in. After the school we went to Bangsar shopping center where we both learnt how to play piano and watched our mother buy persian rugs... oh good times ! We then headed over to the first house we lived in when we moved to Malaysia the first time. Sad to say it was a mess... pretty much condemed the pool was down the hill and there was like construction mess that had never been cleaned up and just left there... it was a sad sight. After the house we couldn't remember where we used to live the second time so we just headed to the Twin Towers which was our nick names for a while when we lived there. It was pretty cool, they had a starbucks so we were happy hahah just kidding but the buildings were pretty amazing. After that the day was pretty much done so we head back to the hotel and chilled.
I forgot to mention the night before, when we got to KL, we went to a Reggae bar which didn't actually play any reggae music and was awesome ! It was a bar when we got there and a hardcore dance club when we left hahah it was really fun, but it is so hard to find anywhere you can really go out in KL and or malaysia due to the high population of islamic people. but we had good times none the less
The next day we got on a bus to head to Melaka which is still in malaysia and we stayed there for two days. The area we stayed in was pretty historical and there were a lot of heritage-y things you could do like go see a large portugese ship... but we went shoppin ghaha it was halloween the next day and we wanted to get our costumes although the ship did look really cool :( . We actually did go to a museum which was called " The Museum of Enduring Beauty" where we got to see depictions of what other cultures thought was beautiful. Such as stretched necks, bound feet, tattoos and STRETCHED EARS (I'm BEautiful-Kelly). That night we hit up a karaoke bar in town and all the classics were done, spice girls, backstreet boys, hanson and celine hahah it was lots of fun.
The next day we got on another bus to singapore (halloween). Our hotel was funny it was called hang out haha. and everytyhing in the hotel was a play on that .. like the room door said zonk out and the phone said call out and the tv room said chill out ... it got a little crazy but we were still laughing. That night was halloween and even though no one really celebrates it in asia a group of people on our trip weren't going to let that stop them... we were included in that group... clearly
Kim dressed as an 80's aerobic instructor and kelly dressed as a nerd... so we really didn't have costumes at all haha. We went to little india and danced to crazy indian music all night long. The next day was the last day of our tour and everyone was sad but not sad enough to not go to the zoo. So we went to the zoo. it was pretty much the sweetest zoo we've ever been to ... it was all kinda free range like there weren't a lot of cages just things running loose all over the park which was awesome. Kims favorite was a cotton eared something (her words (a small little monkey thing)) and kel's was the tigers.. RARRR. We are nerds... We also got to see an elephant show and we got sprayed by water that the elephants crap in ... mmmm sterile
The next day was our departure day to bali so we organized everything that needed to be organized and said good bye to our remaining tucan tour travellers (say that 10 times fast) and then we headed to the airport where we got on a flight to Bali !!!
Now we're in bali which is in indonesia and we are chillin on the beach for a week... day one - burnt to a crisp... our butts are so sore we can't sit down... but we look damn good ... if we were lobsters.
Today we have just been recovering .. shopping .. spa-ing and now internetting ... yayyyyyyyy
We may brave the beach again tomorrow ... spf 100 please
miss you guys and love you
